Dr Karl is the Founding Director of Functional Medicine Doctors in Auckland, New Zealand. He specialises in treating chronic illness with an integrative and functional medical approach.
Dr Karl is a regular speaker and educator at international conferences. He was an ACNEM board member from 2014-2018 and ACNEM Vice President from 2018-2020.
He is a Fellow of the New Zealand College of GP’s, as well as a Fellow of the Australian College of Nutrition & Environmental Medicine for more than 20 years.
He is currently Co-Chair of the New Zealand Society of Integrative Medicine and member of the International Editorial Panel of the journal Clinical Interventions in Aging.
